This is a must stop if you are passing through. it has an old-school ice-cream feel to it.
Food was good. Ice cream was good. Bread was good. Cheese was good. Decor was fun. Clean, friendly, professional.
I think the food and ice cream is great but the help is very lacking. You can definitely tell these are a bunch of middle and high school girls working here. I ordered a molten lava cake with ice cream which is $5. The girl helping me said they were out of molten lava cakes and asked if I wanted a brownie. I told her yes and after we left and I got to the bottom of my ice cream she didn't even put a brownie in it after telling me that. So basically I paid double price for a regular Sunday and the girl didn't even offer to refund me what the brownie Sunday should have been instead of the molten lava cake. They need to get a better system to ensure customers are satisfied.
One time, while stopped in Richfield, we decided to take a stroll down the main street in town, and discovered Ideal Dairy. We stopped in to have ice cream, and had a pleasant experience. The ice cream was very good, and the service was good. We have returned several times since, nearly every time we've passed through Richfield. We have always had good experiences here, though we have yet to try anything other than ice cream.
I grew up going to the Dairy for treats in the summertime. It's such a cute themed little ice cream and sandwich stop. You can take your friends, family, groups, etc. and all equally have a good time. I personally suggest getting the traditional swirly cone with chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
